Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating excavators, dozers, skid steers, and other construction equipment with precision and care. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently on a variety of job sites.

Duties

  • Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, skid steers, and backhoes to complete site work.

  • Perform land grading, trenching, and excavation for roads, utilities, and foundations.

  • Read and interpret site plans, blueprints, and grade stakes to execute precise cuts and fills.

  • Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment to ensure proper functionality and report any mechanical issues.

  • Maintain safe working conditions by following company and OSHA safety protocols.

  • Work closely with site supervisors and crew members to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.

  • Load and unload materials safely and effectively.

  • Assist with routine equipment maintenance, such as checking fluid levels and cleaning machinery.

  • Operate within tight spaces and around other workers while maintaining full control of the equipment.

Skills and Specifications

  • Must be at least 22 years of age.

  • Proven experience operating heavy equipment in construction, excavation, or site preparation.

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen as well as random drug screens throughout employment.

  • Ability to accurately read grade stakes and operate laser/GPS grading systems (preferred but not required).

  • Strong understanding of site safety and hazard awareness.

  • Knowledge of basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.

  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and on rough terrain.

  • CDL is a plus but not required.
